Im currently running 2 12" dvc sub woofers off a star sound 1200W 4ch amp. i recently bought 350W pioneer 6x9s and got a 4ch 1000W targa amp to run the 6x9s. How would i go about grounding,connecting the on/off wire and giving power to the targa amp without having to run some more wires from the battery? do i need to buy another installation kit? if not what do i need?

Depending on the true total RMS power of these amps, the gauge of the battery cable you ran and the distance between the amps and the battery you might or might not have to get another amp kit. Provide these numbers and I'll let you know.

The total RMS power of both amps = 600. With an 8gauge battery cable. The distance between the amps and battery is approximately 7 feet.

um from what Im reading you would need a set of distribution blocks. However if the size of the wire going from the battery to the first amp isnt large enough you will need to replace that one to a larger gauge wire. Basically how it works is you have say a 4 gauge wire going from the battery to the dis. block then from the block have say a 4 gauge wire going to one amp and maybe an 8 gauge wire going to a smaller amp. then from each amp you have a ground wire running to the other dis. block which then has a 4 guage ground wire running to the chasis of the car. Now imp. note...

If you run a 4 Gauge wire from the battery to the block run a 4 guage wire from the ground block to the chasis of the car.

if you run a 8 gauge from the block to one amp run a 8 gauge from that amp to the ground block. Understand?

as to the size of power wires you need I leave that to other more experienced people.

P.S. For the remote lead wire I just run it from the deck to one amp then run another wire from that amp to the other.

P.P.S. You may want to think about future upgrades to your system now. My brother and I really screwed ourselves by purchasing an 8 gauge kit. then having to scrap that for a 4 gauge kit when we did an upgrade similar to yours, then finally to the 0 gauge kit we now have. It wastes alot of time to have to rerun wires as well as alot of money buying new wires.
