Hi was think ing of getting and l7 15" however I only have about 2.9 cu ft of room. I was thinking of just adding polyfill but from want I hear about these subs sound best in 4.5 cu ft ported box. Maybe I should go with a 12" or a 15" cvx or maybe going with another type of sub? I want to get the most bass I can get. Can anyone help me?

2.9 cu ft PORTED is wayyy too small for that sub to sound good.

With that space you'd be better off with a single 12 inch sub

what about 3.7 with polyfill?

3.7 cu ft net is better...I wouldn't use polyfill for a ported box though...tuned to about 31Hz with one 6 inch round port 17 inches long maybe
