So I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. I just sold my old car that had a sick ass system. Now I want to put a double din screen back in my truck, but would there be a signifcant sound difference? The main reason why I want to do an aftermarket deck is so I could hook up my IPOD through my stereo!

If the main reason is the Ipod and you are happy with the factory radio, then companies like American International and Soundgate (just to name a few) make interfaces that allow you to play an ipod through the factory radio using the radios controls. They will even charge the ipod. I have personally used both brands in various vehicles with great results.

Aftermarket radios usually sound much better than factory.

The SQ of an aftermarket deck is only as good as the speakers that is used. Most aftermarket HU's have more options and better power output, but lack OEM integration ( hence installation kits and wire harnesses ). If you like the sound of the OEM system you can get the DICE module that will allow you to control and charge your iPod via the OEM deck.
