i want to put my subs in my room but does anyone kno how to hook it up too a shelf stereo.?

You need a power inverter to go from ac to dc power so you can power an amp. Run sub out to rca inputs in the amp. If you do not have a sub out on your shelf system, you have to get a line output convert. This will go from you highs, ie speaker wire, to rca jacks.
