I did a search on the forum and could not find an answer to what I was looking for.
I am adding a amp/sub to a 05 Chevy crewcab that has all the Bose/Onstar crap in it. I had a guy tell me to go into the driver pop panel between the cab doors and find the rear speaker wires there, being a (RR) lt. blue/dk.blue and (LR) BROWN / yellow, darks are postives....#1, is this true?? Next thing, he told me to hook my LOC in there and go to the amp with the RCAs, #2, is this correct?? I don't want to mess any of the factory crap up and I was told that connecting to anything on the front wires is a no-no...and it's too dang expensive to replace!!! So let me know if I am right or not in doing this!!
Last thing...can I grab the pink behind the head unit as it is supposed to be the factory amp (+) kick on wire to power my amp?? WIll this hurt anything on the factory unit side of things?
Thanks for the help!!
Depending on what LOC you use, you can grab the front outputs behind the radio. Some LOC's input sensitivity is not high enough to detect Bose output signal and therefore will not detect a signal. Using the rear speakers after the amplifier will be the best bet for the LOC's that can not detect the low level signal. We use a high end LOC from REQ for any Bose system and it works great. The REQ also gives you a remote turn on lead as well.

Thanks for the info. I ended up grabbing them in the driver panel between the doors. I used a Pac LOC and got it all in. it works perfectly and no problems at all. I installed a Pro Box with a 10" Powerbass M10, a Powerbass asa400.2 amp and it all runs excellent!! Has some great output and sounds great!! Thanks again for the info.
Want to improve upon it? If so, add the Audio Control LC6i + bass remote. It is a advanced LOC and has a dash mounted level control for the subs. It is a easy install as you already have all the wiring done for it. www.audiocontrol.com
