ok I'm trying to install an amp in a 2004 gmc sierra with a bose system and a factory amp iam confused b/c ive never done a system with a factory amp. I know there are amp bypass kits but i dont know what thats for. I tried hooking up a line output converter after the factory amp but it doesn't sound right(i bought the converter from wallmart so maybe its just cheep)

use PAC AOEMGM24.  You will be satisfied!  This will cost you around $50.  Good luck!
