I've been a reader here for a while but have finally signed up to ask a question. I hope it is answerable, thanks for the help in advance.
I recently purchased a new sub and box to replace my old one which was too big. I was using the amp in question yesterday without any problems. Today I hook up the new sub and nothing... Switch to the old sub, same thing, switch to a different amp, both subs work.
The amp power light isn't on but neither is the protect light. It is an older 2x50W hifonics amp. When I turn on the car the sub coil is forced all the way out in one direction depending on polarity but doesn't move in and out, it just stays all the way at the full end of motion until you turn off the power. Is the amp shot or is there something I could try? I do have another of these amps that is physically broken that I could swap electronics off the board if I had an idea of what to try. Is there anything I could try that would give more information? It worked yesterday and I don't see anything different that would have gone wrong, all it did was sit overnight. It was really foggy and humid last night, I might try it again this evening.
Thanks
The amp is shot and is sending DC to the sub. Disconnect it. Replace it. It's not really worth fixing, IMO.

Yes your amp is the problem as said before do not hook it back up. How old is it? Is is a Vulcan? Either way, if you have some mechanical skills and the ability to take it apart, it won't be that bad to repair. Send me a Private message and we can see if we can get it repaired.
have you fixed the amp yet?if you send me a pic of the cicut board ill try to help you identifie damaged components
