Does anyone know what Wires I need to connect to my Pioneer stereo. I've got the speaker connections sorted but am stuck with the power.

The stereo has a red, a black and a yellow, however the car has a red, a black, a GREEN, AND a purple. I have a very rudimentary knowledge of this sort of thing, so if you technical whizzkids can explain it as to a child, it would be appreciated.

Also how important is it to disconnect the battery first?

Here is the wiring diagram for your car
1994 Geo Metro Stereo Information

Now on a after market Pioneer these are the wires you should have coming out of the rear. Typical Head Unit Wire Harness

Now if you match up the colors on the two diagrams it should work. If you still have problems let us know and we will further assist you.

Is a geo metro the same as a rover metro?
