I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe (4Dr)
Currently, I have the ugliest amp install known to man, and I want to clean it up.

There are two amps mounted on a 2x10 under the rear seat, which is screwed on either end to a short length of 2x4 which is ZIP TIED to the metal bracket that holds the rear seat to the floor.

I can't even bring myself to take pictures of it.

Can someone answer a few questions for me.

1.) If I were to mount them straight to the floor, would I be piercing something important with the screws ?
2.) Is there a way to mount the amps and still retain full functionality of the rear seat ?
3.) Does anyone have vehicle specific installation photos of something like this ?

Basically my setup is done in such a way to minimize the loss of cargo space and interior functionality.

I'm really happy with the way that the rest of the system is shaping up, but this really needs some attention.

please... help....

maybe try mounting them to the actual back of the rear seat. I have a 99 suburban thats a 3 row and I know my second row has a thin board like backing on the back of the seat that is carpeted. I am not sure about the actual rear seat though since my amps are just mounted in the cargo area and my boxes cover up the back of the 3rd row seat.

No dice... Then when I fold the seat down they are on the floor and in the way. I want to put them under the seat but I'm looking for a cleaner, better method.

Thanks though...

then just use the same method you are already using just clean it up a little bit. Carpet or vinyl the rack or use plexi for the rack or something that looks cleaner to you. As far as piercing with screws going into the floor, you will have to look under the carpet to see if any wires where you are going to screw and if going to use long screws look under the body of the car to make sure nothing in the way there also.. You might have enough room under the 2 front seats to place one under each of those.

If you are screwing it down close to the mounting brackets on the seats then you might be fine since the brackets that hold the seats go through the floor.
