i have an mtx 81001 (monoblock) and i was wondering if 2 kicker S12L7 12" DVC subs were possible to hook up to that one amp. and if so if i needed any type of special enclosure for it? is kicker good in the first place?

yes, that amp will be more than enough for them, those amps are very underrated anyways, make sure you get the 4ohm dvc.

Kicker L7 are more of an SPL sub, SQ isn't much there, but you can get them to sound good if you know what you are doing.

As for enclosure check with their website or with Jeffchilcott on here, he knows a lot about kicker.
