Does anybody know of a good repair shop software programme that can be downloaded. Preferably a freeware programme for tracing repairs booked in, searching by serial number, customer, unit type, job number, technician, etc. Would be greatly appreciated if someone can point me in the right direction.

As freeware?  No, usually you purchase this kind of technical information from your distributors.  If you are talking about software for tracking your own internal business, then there might be some nice things out there that run on Excel.

nothing free... but i have used ShopKeeper, Service Plus and Service Attendant and i much prefer Service Attendant of the 3....

It's what i use now for the Service Dept ., Install Dept. and all front end counter sales... it allows you to e-file all warranty claims as well directly from the Log Book....  they do have a free trial version available on their website....
