Hi, I'm getting a nasty feedback/whine from my speakers. I've went through and checked everything out. Replaced the ground for the amps, which is ran through a dist. block. Also replaced the mounting point for the head unit ground. Basically it has noise when the car is running and when the car off.

My setup at this moment involves a pioneer N2, a kicker 4 channel amp and JL audio components in the front and rear. I had a memphis belle amp installed before but I had to send it out for service since it was being thrown into protection mode.Is it possible that whatever was causing my whine could of affected the memphis?

Noise while the car is on and off, interesting. Have you tried unplugging the RCA's at the amp, and turning the amp on with out audio signal?

so basically its the head unit? what exactly could be causing the problem?

It possibly could be. Pioneers are known for having bad RCA negatives. To test, ground four small wires to your amp ground terminal, and connect each one of the other ends to each RCA negative (have your sub amp off -only testing the 4channel as noise is easier to hear through high-pass speakers). The RCA negatives are, thankfully, the outer connection on the jack so you can simply just touch the other ends of the wires to the outer metal part of each RCA jack on the amp. From what I know, you should hear a pop and then the noise should be gone.

Let us know what happend.

Okay, I'll give that a try tomorrow when I have more daylight. If that does end up working, how would I go about fixing it?

Simply solder the wires to your outer RCA connections, on the jack itsself, and ground the other ends out. You'll want to do this to your sub-amp RCA connections as well, if this is even the problem.

Check the location of your RCA wire and the Power wire. Because if you have cheap RCAs and they are running right along the power wire this could cause noise.

Well I ended up grounding out the rca outputs from the radio and that worked out fine. No whine, but I did notice the faintly sound of the cd player powering up, but other than that, it's all good til I get myself a new player in a few weeks.

You don't need to get a new deck, just keep the RCA negatives permanently grounded out and the problem is fixed.

I know I don't need a new deck, but I am wanting to get one with the bluetooth built in since it will be a nicer convience instead of wearing an ear piece or bluetooth piece while driving.
