Hey all -- I'm installing an aftermarket device in a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee and according to Directechs the two places I'd normally look aren't viable options.

1. At the radio, there's only +12V Constant. Instead of switched power, it has a data bus going into it.

2. Ignition. It's a negative trigger. I can reverse the polarity using a relay but I'd rather just find an existing source of switched power to tap from. It's been a long time since I've been in an install bay and I'm pretty rusty in the relay department.

The only other place I can think is to pull it from an accessory outlet, but I haven't yet seen the vehicle so I don't know if the accessory outlets on the Jeep are switched or constant.

Any recommendations?

The ignition isn't negative trigger you will still find a positive ignition source there. You would want to use a relay off that wire though as it is not high current. You could also use any of the cigarette lighters that are on switched power. Last if you take down the panel covering the steering column look all the way to the left if I remember right there should be a harness with a thick RED / yellow or pink / YELLOW that you could use.
