i just need opinions. ok im gonna be making my own fiberglass enclosure fit to handle 4 rockford fosgate power t2's. I was doing the math and each sub can do 800rms constant. Thats about 3200w constantly needed. Should i put 2 RF power T20001bd amps that push about 2000w+ each or one RF T40001bd amp that does about 4000w+? any one who knows car audio knows rockford subs are always power hungry. each sub is capable of 1600w max.

...do you have a charging system that can supply an amp that large??? I would start there before you worry about high current amps if you haven't already...

First you need a very very high output alternator, secondly, with that kind of power your fiberglass box better be thick, very thick!, and thirdly I would go for the 4000 watt amp and take it easy on the amplifiers gain.

I would like to know how good those T2's compare to the T1's and the P3's as far as being are they worth the extra $100 or so more per sub if anyones reading this post and has heard all 3 sets

the T2's are stronger and can handle more power. the rubber on the ring is thicker than the T1 and the P3 doesnt even compare to the power series. i think the T1 can do the same as like 2 or 3 P3's. i already have a very high output alternator. and i got really bored so i bought the newest capacitor from Rockford. the 10farad cap.

Are you sure you can fit 6 subs in your vehicle while giving each and every sub the required air space?

yea it is a 1997 chevy tahoe. MASS amount of space. but i have grounded myself to putting 4 subs and 2 mids. dont know where the mids will go mayb on the doors with a custom enclosure or put in w. the subs in the same box. idk yet. but we will find out.

hey silly question but i wanna know what you guys think? ok for starters what size fuse should i use for my install. i was thinking of 2 100amp fuses since there are gonna be 2 amps. and should i go with an ANL type or should i use an AGU type fuse.

Well, since AGU only comes in values up to 80A, I'd say you're stuck with ANLs.

add up all the fuses you have on your amp(s) (ex: if you have (3) 30 amp fuses, I would put a 100 infront of it... always have a little more than you need...)

While that is not WRONG, it's not complete... The primary fuse is NOT there to protect the amplifiers. You are installing the primary fuse to protect the wire and the car. It's value will be based on the size of the wire in which it is installed:

#8 - 100A
#4 - 150A
#2 - 225A
1/0 - 350A

There was a long thread about this recently - it was so full of CORRECT information, it became a sticky! Read it, know it, live it! posted_image

Based on the above chart, and the response posted by tubbs04, if you only had 90A worth of amplifier capacity, you would only use a #8 wire (fused for 100A) in your installation.

While it isn't unsafe to put in a fuse smaller than is necessary, why insist on the additional expense of a wire that is larger than you have to have? Fuse for the wire size, not the current draw, and size the WIRE for the current draw.

Or more correctly, add up the total of your fuses (example 3 - 30A fuses = 90A of capacity) and a #8 is capable of supporting 100A, so why use a wire larger than a #8? Install a #8, and then fuse it for 100A, as that is what it is capable of carrying safely..

What would we do without haemphyst??? hahaha, Thanks for the correction/completion of my answer. Never really understood it was for protecting the vehicle... Just thought it was another safety feature so as not to turn amps krispy! makes sense though... just a little disapointed that it just now came to my attention... better late than never i guess...
