ive got a 2ch amp, and 4 mids. 2 up front, and 2 in back. the 2 up front are differnet brand than the rear mids. can i wire front and rear left mids in parallel to ch1, and front and rear right mids to ch2?

both mids are 8 ohm nominal, but the front set says "Re: 5.2 ohm" and the rears are "Re: 5.9 ohm"

what does that mean, and will it work the way i want to wire it?

Yes, you can wire them in parallel.  Re is the DC resistance of the voice coil and the difference between 5.2 and 5.9 is insignificant.  Impedance is an AC value, normally listed as a nominal value that is frequency dependent.  Two 8-ohm speakers will place a nominal 4-ohm load on your amp.
