at the same time I blew the 7 amp fuse in the fuse box in the kick panel. Is there another fuse that I may have missed?
Is it possible (or probable )that I may have sent +12 volts to the ground side of the CD Player while I
was busy blowing fuses (maybe taking out a diode?)

get a test light and see if you are gettin ignition, constant and ground to the radio! if you are, then you probably fried the radio.

I'd recommend checking ALL the fuses at the fusebox (and under the hood if you have some there too) just to make sure; and replace any that are bad. Sometimes they mark/label them incorrectly and it CAN make a difference. If that doesn't solve it, test for +12 volts constant at the radio harness on the blue/white wire, and +12 volts switched on the yellow/red wire. You should get 12 volts on the wires--if you don't, you know you've missed a fuse somewhere. If you do, and the radio still doesn't work, you dun fried it! posted_image

Thanks for your help. Just a detail, the radio and tape unit work fine, it is just the CD Player that no longer works. I would have assumed that the power supply and fuse protection were all the same for the radio, tape player and CD? Maybe I need to find a wiring diagram to get the final answer. Any further thoughts would be appreciated.

Is this an external CD player (in a separate location on the dash)? If so, you might just have to replace the CD player and not the whole unit. Or there might be a loose connection or another fuse on the back of the CD player.

But most likely it's all integrated into one spot and one unit, and you're gonna have to send in the whole thing to get fixed (repair cost varies; I'd recommend www.carstereohelp.com). Just out of curiosity, is it a bose system? FYI that site also has the wiring diagrams and pictures of the back sides of most of the acura radios so u might want to check that out too.
