I have a 03 Eclipse RS, the front door speaker size according to crutchfield is 6 3/4, so I get a set of speakers (Pioneer TS-G1341R) that everywhere I read, are supposed to directly replace the factory speakers of a 03 eclipse without any adapters. Thats not the case, the speaker falls right into the hole where the factory speaker was installed. Any ideas what I could or what I'm doing wrong? I cant find any adapters either and everybody I ask seems to think I'm stupid when I tell them the speakers are too small, I should know I'm the one who took the door panel apart.

I meant to say TS-G1641R, the 1341r are 5 1/4.

Is the factory speaker that you removed in any kind of plastic bracket that you can reuse? It has been a while since I have done one of those...

It does have some form of plastic around it, but it cant be removed and its the same size as the speaker.

I believe the stock door speakers in an Eclipse are actually 7" but yes you can make a 6.5 work if you reuse the plastic mounting ring on the OEM speaker, or make your own from MDF.  Mounting depth is a common issue as well.
