i'm new to this forums so i'm lookin for a little bit of help.

i have a 2004 explorer with the thrid row, i didnt want to lose it so i'm thinking about down grading to ten inch type r's. is there a big difference between the two if i'm pushing the the same amount of power? Can two 12 fit behind the thrid row? Any suggestion on custom mounting location for the amp? i'm planning on using a kenwood amp 9103d or the 1000bd amp from rockford. Both of these amps are one stable so i was going to bring the  subs down one ohm. any suggstions

big difference??

well yeah...the big difference is the cone area advantage of the 12s.

also you wouldn't "bring the subs down to one ohm"...you would wire the coils down to one ohm

I think a couple 10 inch type r's and 1000 watts would get decently loud in the right box...I used to have a couple Type R 12s and they were loud as hell for each getting 200 watts in a custom ported box by me.
