No its not a new song, its driving me crazy. If i turn the setting on the amp which reads .2 to 2 volts i will almost quit but the sound goes lower and poor. Alpine 4 channel amp can anyone help

It sounds like your gain control. It's suggested that you match the gain control with the output voltage of your headunit's pre-outs (RCA). If you have the gain to low, the sound will be lower in volume and power. Too high and you get alot of distortion. The trick is to find the "sweet spot" that matches your headunit and speakers.
Are you using RCA's, or line-level inputs? The model of the amp and headunit would help as well ------------- Squirrel

actually gains have no effect on the power output of the amp.
a 100W amp is 100W regardless of gain setting.
gains shouldn't be turned all the way up. you'll drive the amp into clipping and cause damage to both the amp and attached drivers.

The knob that you are turning is an input sensitivity . You can change the input sensitivity from a .2 volt to a 2 volt. Most 12 volts electronics out are a MAX 2 volt input. Some are higher , but so are the prices.

yeah been pretty busy lately.. workin' on the Jeep, the house, moderating the caraudiocentral forums on EZboard, etc etc..
then I had some connectivity problems with this site for a week or two.. was odd. DNS resolved, but teh site wouldn't come up.. anyway seems like it's all good now.

the Jeep is getting re-worked. I got tired of all teh kids thinking they need 5,000 watts of power for a loud system, so I'm building up the grand cherokee for the 250W class and may take it to a few events this Spring.
I'm going to dampen the whole thing in a bit, then use my old Orion 2125SX to drive the whole system.. heheh
Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 components in front, Reference 652i rear fill, and two Cerwin-Vega LE-12D 12" DVC subs. 62.5W RMS per driver on mids/highs, 250W RMS per sub, all controlled with passive crossover networks I'm building. Should be fun. there are pics on the same site I mentioned above.
