So My step dads car was totaled (Not his fault a drunk driver hit it while it was parked) and he got a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. to replace the damaged car It's fully loaded it has every option known to it but the display on the radio does not work and the CD skips sometimes.(Which I know is common for the older Jeep/Chrysler Radios) So me and my step Dad (I will be doing the installing though) wants a new radio he wants a Cassette/CD Player and I want an MP3 CD Player. I found
This Combo On eBay for $105 made by Audiovox. I know not the best but we don't have alot of money and the dealer gave us a discount since the radio was broken ($200 off the total price of the vehicle). I have a question about installation though since it's 1.5 Din just like the Jeep radio how do I mount it because the mounting hardware is not removable from the Jeep radio and I think with a mounting kit it will not fit. I have one more question is about the wiring I kinda don't understand the directions on how to integrate with the stock Infinity AMP
Here are the directions I'm going to use (PDF)
I know I have to do something with the groundwires but I don't quite understand what
and also I am going to get a wiring harness but what method do you recommend to connect the two together? I particularly like crimp caps are those OK to use for wiring a car stereo?
Thanks

I can't open the link due to work restrictions, however as far as the mounting goes, most din.5 radios come with mounting brackets for most if not all applications. You will get a few different takes on your connections. As long as you are using good crip caps and checking for a solid crimp, you should not have a problem using them.

any other takes? I went and did more research on that radio I wanted (I went to the Manufacturers site and downloaded the product manual)and it tells me the stereo is ISO-DIN mountable but that is not what I want to do,and the manual does state Chrysler/GM Compatibly (So does the Specs sheet) But the manual does not state if it comes with any mounting brackets or even what the box should contain. It says most vehicles will need a "Special" Mounting kit but I don't know of any kit that will allow a 1.5 Din Radio as most are for a single din radio. Does any one know of a Metra or scosche Part Number for a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Kit that allows a 1.5 Din Radio
Thanks
