thump when amp turns on

I searched the site but didnt find the exact answer I was looking for. I have that thump when the amp turns on. Can I Toggle the remote line? Will this stop the the thump? Would that be like adding a delay?

I am not sure if toggleing the remote will help you at all but you could always try and grab another ACC for the turn on. Are you using the ACC from the radio harness? or is it from some other source?

From the harness. I have a pioneer deh-860mp if that matters.

With the amp playing, remove the remote wire from the amp.  Then reinsert the wire, if it still pops when it comes back on, a switch will not help you.  If it does not pop, then yes a switch will help.

i once had that problem. take the the remote out and connect it again and if it still happens disconnect the power wire and re connect.

If the amp comes on after all of your accessories, there is a good chance you'll never be able to get rid of it...

Do you have any additional signal processors in-line, say a crossover or EQ? if you do, then you need to make certain those are on and stabilized before the amp powers up.

Turn on the system. Go to the amplifier, and remove the remote lead. (Be careful not to short the screwdriver to the chassis of the amplifier when loosening the screw, you risk frying your remote output from your deck.) Once the amp has turned off completely, (give it about 10 seconds or so) touch the remote back to the remote terminal. If there is a pop or thump still, then nothing you do will help, you have to send the amp back to Kicker for repair. If there is NO pop or thump, putting a toggle in the remote lead will fix your issue, by allowing you to turn the amp on last, after your deck and processor(s) (if present) have stabilized.

another thing to ask, where is your gain set?     Turn on noise, and other noises can be a gain related problem
