wondering how well bass horn method would work in mobile enviroment?extended bass shelf works well(superbass)and wont try transmission line again until i see a confirmed design.all in all it sometimes is hard to beat good ole sealed boxes.whatever hapened to babb speakers?they were high but had a sound unlike no other and M&M where did they fall off?im a little old shool but open to technology for sure.show me dont snow me is my concept.did anybody see the mythbusters episode with wayne harris and ththe speaker runing off the drive shaft?did like 161 db at 18 hz.funny as doodie but had a point none the less ,all our monster db is created around 500 now i believe.flashdance sux but gave a few surges lower on the hz scale.whats this stuff about sound pressure can liquify around 180db?just my spill please respond worthy gurus.

True bass horns are not practical in the car - they're just too big for any respectable extension.
I am curious to know why you won't try TL "again", until you see a "confirmed" design... Have you done a TL in the car before? Did you achieve the desired results? There's your confirmation. But if you want more confirmation, I have one in my car right now, and the results are better than I'd actually hoped for. Following are a few photos of the finished product, and the construction.

Babb (originally a Florida company, IIRC, and the first time I had ever seen an aluminum cone, AND a speaker that could play underwater...) hasn't existed in quite some time, I believe they just went out of business; M&M was dissolved by the family after Tony Manino died (which happened shortly after his wife Rose, died - remember "The Rose" 18's? Tony named those after his wife). The year escapes me, however.
I believe that the "liquify" myth is just that - a myth, otherwise everything around the launchpad of the space shuttle would turn to goo. With SPL's approaching 180dB, 150 yards from the launch-pad, you can do the math to figure how loud it actually is AT the pad. (Add 3dB for each halving of distance) BTW, I believe the number is 195dB, where it is no longer considered "sound" but a shock wave.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
You got me on th e rose 18's,i remember the 18 days but not the rose .Did M&M produce? That tline there has a 12 in it?and that diagram is not your actual design right?i see two woofers in design.?%What does it sound like?grabbing low real good? What kinda car?looks like mercedes taillight.Im interested in your box if that is fitting inside a trunk. On the Db thing,Top fuel dragsters produce 170 db in between the cars ,open air.I thought the shuttle was way lower? Is o.s.h.a. still on top of the crank it ups?I hear BABB might be going out of lewisville ,tx doing Marine.I saw "BABB TO THE BONE"in like 1987,A 69 camaro with 56 six and one halfs on a 225HCCA had no pressure really but from a distance some awesome soundQ.Appreciate the Reply. You resider in tx2?
