Hey everyone. I have a 1995 volvo 850 GLT and im trying to hook up my amp and capacitor. My problem is that the is no remote turn on wire on the factory head unit. ive been at it for hours and came up with nothing! So i was wondering if i can use my ACC (12volt) in place of the remote wire? Please help me

You can, but the amp will remain on even if the headunit is off.

You need one of these.

Get a signal sensing turn on lead device. PAC's TRUNK-LOC or TR-4 are what I use.

There is no such thing as free installation!

There is enough voltage on the outputs from the deck, whether they are amplified or pre-amplified (on factory amplified systems) to trigger the device.

It acts as a relay, but much more sensitive. You tap a constant, a ground and a speaker out lead behind the radio, then blue wire acts as your new remote turn on. Basically as long as the radio is putting out signal your amp will be on, but as soon as the radio goes off, the device turns off, along with your amp.
