can i install 6- 1/2 inch coaxial speakers in my 04 accord that has a 5- 1/4 factory speakers

Sure, if you have the skills. I believe I have just used 6.5" plastic universial spacers in the past, but making a routed template would be nicer as the factory speaker spacer is shaped almost like a trangle.

Does your accord have the tweeters on the dash?

thanx dwarren . i don't know if the car has those tweeters in the dash but there are two tiny speaker grills way up in the dash close to the wind shield.

They do have slim profile speakers out there so if spacers wont look good you can opt for thinner speakers. I know at one point Pioneer had some. I personally think components are much cleaner then coax.

I agree with this. Hence me asking if you do have tweeters, which you more than likely do.

Thin profile. The width between the edge of basket and back of magnet are less for smaller mounting depth.
