I need the specifications of  the JL Audio W3 (first one not V2) subwoofer. I just got this at a good price instead of the intented JL W1v2 and need its specs.

At the JL Audio site in Discontinued subwoofers it links me to the W3v2's manual when I click on the subwoofers model number. I want its detailed specs to see any difference as I will be shorting one voice coil and run it as a SVC (a bit short on amplifier power) so the Qms n Qes changes need to be taken into account when desiging the box.

Thanks :)

A while back there was a post about adjusting one VC to change QMS QES. Something about using a a 5 watt ??? ohm pot to change tuning. I believe the Adire boys had a white paper on the subject. Very interesting info.

My Stealth Box came with the W3V2. It didn't WoW me. Changed it to An RE SE and have had incredible results.

Yea I know.

Im just shorting one coil.

What I need are the W3s T/S parameters to find out what the Qes n Qms parameters will become and design a sub box according to that.

JL 12w3 came with three options: dual 2, 4 or 6.  They also prodiced a 10 and a 15.  Which do you have?

WinISD has these in the database.  There's also https://www.thielesmall.com/database.asp

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
