I am looking for a Canbus VSS interface that will allow me to have an analog VSS signal from a vehicle that runs on Canbus(no analog VSS).

I have already tried the module from Fortin (www.ifar.ca) but it does not meet my specifications.

I need a module that is ready for every Canbus car, or that is updatable for future Canbus vehicles(GM, Ford, Toyota and other companies are slowly converting to Canbus).  Most module are ready only for higher end car makes like BMW, Audi, Mercedes etc. Essentialy, a module that is ready for any car and has fast and reliable tech support.

Any ideas?

That would be a nice product, one that integrates with every system, but  I don't see that happening any time soon. Not every car has made the change yet, so the products available are not universial.

I wouldn't be surprised if a company like DEI produces one in the near future. I think they mentioned it recently.

Hmm, that can't be good.  I have recently stumble upon a Chevy that was first thought to be analog VSS but was CanBus even though it's been the same generation all along.

I have used a CanBuss interface, a Canadian made one, but it is not ready for any car( tried on a 2008 Saturn VUE).  The "engineer" told me to bring the car to his shop leave it for one day so he can program it to fit the car.  I obviously can wasted 1 day just to program a Canbus interface when install job are under 2 hours and cutomers (up to 6 installs a day) are wating.  This is very inefficient and unpracticle.

I agree. Did you see these?

That's unfortunately yet another reason the 12volt industry is turning sour...

Thanks for the link.  I just contacted Soundgate and their product have the same problem like all the other Canbus VSS Interface out there: they do not cover all car make and non-updatable module.  Which mean, if I buy it today and new cars non on the list come out with Canbus tomorrow, the module becomes obselete and I just wasted my money.  Most companies.

After some digging around, I seem to have found a UK company that has an interface that has a USB port in it and has database update capabilities.
