I am looking into solutions for my front stage, I have a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche and have some Adire Extremis woofers that I will be fiberglassing sealed pods in the stock speaker locations, and am looking into getting some kick panel pods for my component speakers. Are they a good idea, or should I be looking into cramming my component speakers on to my doors also since the kick panel pods suck for imaging?

Always thought the "Q" stuff was cheap. Build some pods in your doors.

Cheap as in build quality, or cheap as in they just pointed the speaker mounting locations and hoped for the best?

I've seen people kind of alter or modify the q-forms. Either by adding dynamat products or venting them based on the driver used. I personally don't think they are terrible for a some what mass marketed option. They at least get you where you need to be, and with the above mentioned mods, probably aren't that bad.

Cheap as in build quality. I put a pair with some Morels into a friend's Grand National, and we couldn't EVER get it to sound even decent. They'd ring like an S.O.B., and they were so thin, you couldn't get a decent screw to hold the driver(s) in place, and they cracked and came loose in the first day of heat we had. Cheeze.
You'll also be far happier with pods, I think. Kick panels really aren't the way to go AFAIAC.
------------- It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Ok, I guess i'll have to asses the door pod situation a little further.
