I have a 4 channel amplifier that I have for powering my components and subwoofer. Its a little underpowered.

I got a 2 channel amplifier in my other car running its 6x9s and the audio in that is used for only listening to the news now so I can use the amplifier from that.

I have 2 RC outputs in my pre. I want to confirm if I can use RC Y-adaptors on one set of RC outs so that I can bridge my 4 channel and run my 2 channel together.

Im going to use the 2 channel for the subwoofer IF its 2ohm stable in mono and the 4 channel bridged for the components with the Y adaptors in use ... or vice versa if my 2 channel isnt 2ohm mono stable.

So can I use the adaptors or not ? Sub is a 12W3D4

Yes.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

... 10 mins after posting that and lying down to sleep ... I thought, wow ... that was a stupid question considering ive used them before :S. Lesson of the day ... dont post in the middle of the night.

Lol, anyways thanks haemphyst! You are always a help :)

Btw, would there be anyway to physically recognize whether an amp is 2ohm stable mono or not ?

Thank you, and no. The specs will be posted by the mfr, there will be no way to LOOK at it, and tell, unless it happens to be printed on the heatsink.

What amplifier is it?
