I have (2) 12" kickers that I am clueless about. They are in great shape. all they say on the magnet is (kicker seperates, still????? designs, Pole vent) they are a single VC I know that. What is the power rating of these and how can I tell what ohm they are?

I have an Alpine EQ that has pin plugs on it to hook up to amps. They are round and have pins in them. Do they make a adapter to change them to RCA plugs?

I know they used to. The plugs you are looking at are old school DIN plugs. Alpine had 2 flavor of these, the 5 pin and the 8 pin. Like I said, there used to be adaptors for these but I havve been out of the loop for a while so I can't tell you. I don't remember the "pin outs".

I guess that wasnt much help...John

Are they all black with white Kicker writing? If so, they are Kicker Comps. About 150Wrms.

Buddy has 2 of these, SDAT GF100 10-in. 400-watt Subwoofer. He has them in a blazer with a power 150HD fosgate amp and they hitt pretty good. Not awsome just good. I can get them for 5 buck each. I have a profile California amp to run them.

I am trying to understand how I can controll my speakers with 2 amps and 1 set of RCA jacks from my deck. I have one amp going to subs, and another going to 4 door speakers. Is this hookup possible and how would I controll the bass, highs, mids?

If you are looking to fade front and rear and have adjustable sub control then no. Buy a decent player that has 3 pairs of rca's. Or you could still hook it all up and use the outputs from your four channel to run to your sub amp, if it indeed has outputs. You might have to use y adapters then.

It was already broken, but I made sure it could never be fixed again.

Good deck or not.

It's honestly about what You want (features, display, sound-shaping tools, etc...), but for some brand recommendations look at Alpine, Eclipse, or Denon.

You can find a nice one for under $250 on sale.

Unfortunately Alpine doesn't make a 3 preout deck that is a non-flip face. However it is non motorized though as well as all of their 2007 single din CD players.

How bout getting a deck with 2 sets of RCA, Loking at Alpine CDM-8903 or the Pioneer DEH-P3900MP. Coud I make a decent system with one of those? Alpine scarres me, seems like they are always tearing up.

You could. You'd run the 2pairs of RCA's to the 4channel, then run a pair from the 4ch's RCA outputs to the sub amp. If the 4ch doesn't have RCA ouputs, use RCA y-cables from the rear RCA outputs from the HU to go to the rear input on the 4ch and also the sub amp.

I recommend going ahead and getting a HU with 3 pair of RCA outouts. You can find one with 3 pairs for not much more than one with only 2pair.

The CDM-9803 is at least 2 years old. Stop buying refurbished alpine and you won't have any problems.

No. At least 6 years old. Doesn't play burned cd's. Worth about 20 in excellent condition. It will cost you 85 if there is anything wrong with it. Spend $100 and get something new or a good used alpine deck.

Alpine 9805 is roughly 4 years old. Not worth $100 IMO. $50... maybe.

Ok got my box built and I have 1.8 inside volume. Now I listen to mostly metal, rock, pop music. Not interested in compitions or any thing. I have (2 12" kicker seperates) or (2 10" rockford fosgate XLC) I have about 250 watts to run to them. which should I go with. I know, get better speakers. Love to but this is what I have. the box is in a 97 jeep cherokee in the back facing backwards. Looks kinda like a std cab truck box. Any helpful input would be great!

How durable are the Hifonics amps?

Posted By: sarcomax
Date Posted: October 19, 2007 at 11:02 AM
I have had very few problems with them in a real world application, but the HIfonics 4 channel that we use to run our demo room (I work for fry's and have no choice.) has been replaced once, and the new one has lost the ability to adjust the crossover after 3 months of being on 24hours a day in a confined area...
