power cable adapters or distribution bloc

I'm trying to plan out my new install and I'm debating whether or not to spend money on power cable adapters and run o gauge to a distribution block thats 0g in and 4g out --or-- to Instead run 0 to the distribution block and 4 from the block to everything. I have a 1200RMS sub amp and a 200RMS 4-Channel amp. Hi output alternator. Big 3. So if anyone can give me some advice on whether or not they're worth the money that would be awesome. Oh and my amps accept 4 gauge.

You have two of the same scenarios; 0g to the block that's 4g out OR 0g to the block then 4g to everything. This is the same thing. Was that a typo?

No what I guess I didn't write very clearly was that I was going to have 2 scenarios. 0g to D-block. Power Cable Adapter from d - block to transform the 4 back into a 0 gauge then at the other end of the 0g attach another power cable adapter so that its back down to a 4 once again to go into my amps.

The other was to run 0g to the d-block. 4g from the D-block to everything else.

Or even yet is it possible to find a 0g in 0g out distribution block.

I just wanted to get some extra opinions. I dunno if you can tell some of your buddies on here to give there input as well because no one comments on my stuff other than you. So I really do appreciate your input because you seem to be the only 1 helping me out thus far. And I was reading all the capacitor arguements and have decided to keep the one I have but not to bother buying another for my set-up. Thanks for that you saved me a nice chunk of change.

From 0g to 4g to 0g? It would be pointless. The second 0g (after the 4g) will only be able to carry a maximum of 150amps because that's how much the 4g can carry.

It would be like having 3 water hoses -a 5/8" diameter to a 1/2" back to a 5/8". The second 5/8" (after the 1/2") would only be able to carry as much water as the 1/2" one.

It would just be a waste of money, for the second piece of 0g wire, as it will only allow as much current (amperage) as the 4g.

I would just run 0g to the block with 4g going to each amp. https://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp -Check out the first chart. From the d-block you can run 4g no longer than 4feet to the 1200wrms amp and be okay. Since your amps accept 4g, it'll work out perfectly! If you'll need more than 4feet, you should try to find a block with a 2g out for it. The above link to the chart really should answer all your questions.

Are you talking about using reducers on your 0g to drop the ends of it to 4g in order to allow you to plug them into your amps and distro block?Like this one?

just use 0 gauge from the front to back then downsize to 4 gauge...it'll leave you room for upgrades to bigger amps in the future
