Hey what's up? I'm a noob here and I wanted some feedback on a technique I've used before and plan to use again on my 2000 Chevy Express van. I'm installing two 12's in a box in the very back of the van and because it's a conversion van, all the carpet is glued down solid to the floor, making it hard to run wires. I have run power to the rear of a vehicle before in pvc flex conduit running under the vehicle along the frame rail strapped to the frame and then brought it up wherever the amp was in the trunk or back of the vehicle. No pulling up trim or carpet and I found it was really quite easy to do.

Anyone ever done anything like this before or have any feedback on this practice?

Thanks

I have heard this technique.....is there anything more "solid" than some pvc maybe?

Metal conduit ... the stuff you use in your house or garage, to run (to code anyhows) 110v.

I thought about using metal, but I was afraid of conduit to frame contact, and the possibility of short circuit and fire.  The flex pvc I plan to use is very thick and watertight and the connectors are perfect for passing thru the floor and firewall.  When I do it I'll post some pictures maybe to demonstrate. I think it will work well for this application. Might even pass signal cables through this way also.

Thanks

I'm doing this in my truck...I'd rather not have a big hump in my carpet or not be able to put the trim panels back on as there is barely any space for even 4 gauge

Read up more on this here

aznboi3644, that's exactly the stuff I've used before and am going to use again. Great minds think alike bro. Thanks for the link I read it and it reaffirmed my thinking. Nice job on your ride btw.
