I don't do installs every day or even every month, so I figured I'm a little slower than average. I was just looking for a rough estimate of the time required. Vehicle is an '05 WRX.
Install HU
Run new speaker wires to front doors
Fab simple mounting rings (2)
Modify factory tweeter brackets (2)
Dynamat front doors
Mount and wire crossovers and component sets
I'm not using this for a quote or billing or anything like that, just for my own personal information.

Eighteen months... No, wait... that was MY car. LOL They always seem to take longer than you plan them taking.
I'd give yourself two full weekends, to do it RIGHT... One day to half-*** it. The Dynamat and speaker rings'll run you a full day, unless you have nice shop tools for fabrication.

I would not want to put a time frame on doing a good job. If you put an estimate you will eventually try to rush at the later part of the estimate. Of which is the sub conscience part of your mind, so don't put yourself under any stress and it may go quicker then you think.

Thanks for the input. I thought someone would say "2 hours for everything", but you guys are right. It takes time to do a nice job
The install is already complete and I did take the time to do it right. The total time was around 26-28 hours. I do have the luxury of having a well equipped garage and no real time constraints, so there was no pressure to get it done. I thought is seemed like a long time, but I guess not.
