I have a ported box with 2 JL Audio 10W6V2 speakers, both are dual 4 ohm voice coils and I'm running a JL Audio 500/1 amp. What would give me the most output from this set-up? If you've read some of my previous posts you will know I am a novice when in coming to wiring..series, parallel, etc, so I'd need details on his this should be wired. Thanks ps. Please don't reply with your suggestions of what amp I "should be using" or anything like that, this is what I got and what I am using. Thanks

If that is the Slash series, you can run at 4 ohms and still get the 500 watts. The Slash series is designed to run the same power through a lot of different resistance loads. I don't think they run 1 ohm stable though.

Yeah, its the slash series, I have read that the output is the same from 1.5 - 4 ohms, but how would I even get 4 ohms?? If I have a 4 ohm dual voice coil speaker wouldn't I only be able to get 2 or 8 ohms out of it depending on how its wired?? Like I said I am a novice so don't really know the ins and outs of this stuff.

You want to series the voice coils of each speaker (achieving an 8 ohm load), then parallel the subs together to get a final 4 ohm load. I've done several systems with that same setup and got awesome results. I'm very sure you will be happy.

yes, that is how its wired in the diagram. Its referd to as series/parallel.
