Ive got an old school BD1000

Im looking to buy 2 12" Eciipse SW7200's

From what research Ive done, and used come box calculators I should give each chamber .86 cu ft. ,and it would be tuned to 42htz. (sealed)

does this sound right?

Its going in the back of a 92 prelude.

Whats the best way to wire these up to get max power to them?

Also, would it be a waste of money to get the 8200's instead?

Thanx in advance!

I had an 8000 series titanium woofer - I LOVED it. I bought my ex a 7000 series aluminum, it was great too. Deep and clean bass. The output was greater from the 8000, but it was power hungry. I had one 12" on a 1200w amp, it loved it. I bet you could run 2 of them on your BD. Is the amp 1 ohm stable?

I ran ONE 8000 series woofer and loved it. It sounded better to me than any of the other subwoofers I heard in the streets. If you can afford 2, you will love it! No question about it.

why is the 8200 a SVC and the 7200 a DVC?

and since the 8200 is an SVC, how the hell do I get enough power to 2 of them? Seems I could only go 2 ohm....right?

The 8200 is power hungry, I would anticipate most users running each woofer on its own amplifier.
2 SVC woofers in parallel will yield a 1ohm load for your amp. You will spend quite a bit trying to find an adequate amp that is 1ohm stable.

With the bd1000.1 (1000w x1 @2ohm) I would run ONE 8000 series or TWO (2ohm) 7000 series woofers with the coils in series/parallel.

If you are set one having 2 woofers, then go with the 7000 - you wont be sorry.
