Alright, so I am getting rid of the subs i have now(very cheap) and im going to buy a new amp and subs. heres what im looking at now.

Rockford Fosgate Punch P600.1bd
Kicker 05CVR122 x2

How well would the amp and subs go together? Are there subs that would work better with this amp that are under $100 each? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Well, it depends COMPLETELY on what you want to do. If I were looking for a system for ME, I'd say it was crap, but I don't build bass-beavy "boom cars". Not a fan at ALL of either of those brands, either.

Now, if you can fill us in on what you are looking for, as a desired result, somebody might be able to help you a little more.

It all reminds me of something that Moličre once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Yea i shoulda been a little more specific. Well right now im working with 2 Memphis 12s 500 watts with a 500 watt amp. Basically Im looking for a louder system with pretty good SQ also.. but mainly louder :P.

I have about $400-$500 to work with on two subs and an amp, so im open to any suggestions.. seeing as i dont really know anything about this stuff. Im tryin to learn though heh.

well to start...what enclosure do you have??

there is always improvement that can be made

I agree with aznboi3644. What is the model # of your subs? The amp?

From what you listed, you would be downgrading. With a better amp (if you meant 'peak' or 'max' -completely useless- when you said '500 watt amp') and a better enclosure, you can get what you're looking for without spending too much money.

I think it is funny how a lot of users need immediate help/advice ... not to make an informed decision but bc they are on the verge of buying something with NO advice what-so-ever.

As you are teetering over the edge of the abyss, I hope you pause to listen to our advice. We have ALL been where you are right now. With your budget you probably wont be able to drastically improve your bass by purchasing BOTH an a quality amp AND woofers. List your products and let us advise you on what to do. Most of us have worked on our systems for years, upgrading one piece at a time. It pays off in the long run!

Honestly keep your money save it till your able to get some quality equipment, but if you have to spend it right now then get 1 quality sub and get the right box built for it. You could all ways sell the 2 12's you have then use the amp for the new sub.

Or find two more subs like the ones you have now and build a box for 4 of them if you have the space, since it sounds more like your just after more bass. And  just use your  current amp.

Thanks guys, but one problem. Im hearing that my choices arent too good or I need to look over things a bit more.. well could i get any suggestions? Maybe someone browse and see whats the best thing, in their opinion, that they would come up with using around $400-$500. Suggestions on what types of amps/subs and what brand maybe, that kind of stuff.

Thanks again!

Now we're (starting to) getting somewhere. 500Wrms @ 1ohm -70% efficiency.

Now, what are the model numbers of your subs. What are the dimensions of your subbox? Is it ported or sealed?

These are the models of my subs https://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/details.asp?id=56

Not sure if its the dual voice coiled one or not.. but i doubt it makes a huge difference.

Yes, whether they are dual voice coil subs make a difference!

If the subs are single voice coil, you can only get 250watts RMS from the amp. You'll need the dual VC subs in order to get the full 500watts from it.

Again, what are the dimensions of your enclosure? ARE they dual VC?

Sorry, forgot about the box.. and i cant edit my posts yet. i have a ported box. And im not sure how to determine if my subs are single or dual voice coiled.. how can i find that out?

You'll need to pull one out and see how many speaker connections it's got. If it's got 1 + and 1 -, it's a SVC. If it's got 2 +'s and 2 -'s, it's a dually.

Now, that I know the specs of your amp (500Watts RMS), it's a good thing you asked about the 300Watt RMS RF amp. You'd've been downgrading by A LOT!

Well all i know is it has two wires goin into each sub.. so im assuming its a single voice coil.

How much better would these amps be?

Kole Audio KX1-2000D
Kole Audio KX1-2000D
Power Acoustik OV1-2000D

Or any suggestions you would have on an amp?

Just b/c there's only one set of wires going to each chamber on the box doesn't mean they are SVC.

We need to know what you have. You'll need to remove one of the subs from the box. Seriously, stop worrying about getting more power until we know what you're working with. I'm tired of repeating myself posted_image

Sorry.. I know nothing about this stuff, im just trying to make something out of nothing here. Ill check it tomorro, i dont have time tonight.. seeing as i have never taken a sub out of a box before. Ive had it done for me professionally. But ill look at it asap.. i was just seein if there were any suggestions.

Thanks for the help though, and if it helps at all i payed about 89 for each sub? Maybe that will help with something.

Not at all.

Find out if they are single or dual VC subs, and carefully note how they are wired. If they were installed 'professionally', then I'd assume they sold you the DVC subs  wired parallel/parallel to get full power from the amp.

If they are DVC, wired to 1ohm (ported box, BTW) then you're getting about as much out of your setup as you can get. Still, if it was a prefabricated ported box, then you can build (or have built) another one for more efficiency, but not much more.
