at 4 ohms this amp will produce 125 watts into 4 channels. im not sure how efficient this amp is, but it uses the new ICEpower which ive heard is somewhere close to 90% efficient. so since i dont know how efficient it is, i do know it is a class d, so i'll use 80% as the efficiency.

125 watts * 4 = 500. assuming i am correct here, this amp produces 500 watts rms at 80% efficiency.

500/.8=625. 625 watts to power the amp.

625/14.4= 43.4 amps required for this amplifier to produce its max power output.

but this amp has 3 30 amp fuses on it. 3*30 = 90

are my calculations correct or am i missing something here?

It has additional fusing capacity for running at 2 ohms, where the output will be higher, and the efficiency will be lower.

To test the theory, swap the 30's for 20's or possibly 15's. They should be just fine in there with a total of 45A protection capacity, and you can't hurt anything by testing in that manner.
