I can't seem to make up my mind on speakers, im leaning towards the Alpine SPX REF series, but also hear good things about the Diamond Audio speakers, I have been researching Focal, Alpine, Diamond, Dynaudio, Morel.  The system will be powered by an Alpine PDX-4.100, I have Adire extremis mids in the doors that will handle 63hz- 250hz approximately, im still undecided on the x-over points of course since I don't have the speakers yet.

Im looking for a soft dome type tweeter, and the system will be cranked, i love it loud and clear, usually listening to stuff like the Chilli Peppers, linkin Park, fast beat, heavy, deep guitar's.

Whats your suggestions?  I will purchasing online since all the local shops are now closed except one that only carry's JL, and Futureshop, Im willing to spend up to $300.

Thanks

Why would you want to use marine grade speakers?  In any case, my normal suggestion is to listen before you buy.  If shops in your area sell JL, go listen to the VR component series.  I recently installed a set in my wife's new car and they sound really good.  If you don't like the sound and decide to order blind, the only one on your list I don't like is Focal and the ones I like best are Dynaudio or Morel (although you may not find anything from them for $300.)

Your Extremis woofers will "handle" anything from 30Hz to 3000Hz with ease.  posted_image

What would you recommend crossing the Adires off at, the amp will give m e the ability of up to 300hz, should I go as high as that?

I have never heard aluminum tweeters before, based on your listening tests did you like your wifes JL's?

If I was going to get anything from Kleenex Gold, the only ones I would think about would be the Ti6CompeElite here https://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1236

But they need gobs of power.

IMO your Xover from the Extremis is completely dependent on the woofer you choose in your main set.  The JL VR set uses a silk dome tweeter and sounds really nice for the price.  The Ti Comp Elite speakers were made by Morel and are outstanding

I think I might settle on the Phoenix Golds made my Morel, I read a ton of reviews on them and they seems to be outstanding s/q speakers, they seem to take off from 150hz and up so it should work out perfect for me with my 3 way setup. im still going to take a listen to the JL's tomorrow though as I know they are on the sound board at the local shop.
