Reviews have been mixed. The thing really works great, clean sound, 8 volt outputs. The drawback is there are so many differant applications the data base for the cars is always in catchup mode. Before doing any Cleansweep job, call JL tech support and get the info on that specific car. Wanna buy one cheap? lol

The cleansweep works by looking at a signal from a supplied CD to see what the factory equalization curve looks like and uses the onboard equalizer to get back to a flat signal. In my experience it has proven to be an easy and trouble free product. I've been happy with the results. There shouldn't be any compatibility issues in any vehciles. Some vehicles do send out from the factory amplifier crossed over signals to the speakers which will require JL's CL-SSI summing processor to get a full range signal to the cleansweep. But beyond that it should work with any vehicle out there.

tcss, how did you run into compatibility problems?

Tried to do a new Infinity with the 7 channel Bose system with the headrest speakers. JL tech said I would need 2 cleansweeps and 4 summing modules and said even with those they couldn't guarantee it would work. Same answer for a new Mercedes Benz CLK-500 with the HK 6 channel system. Not saying the piece is bad, just check with JL tech before you start.

That seems a bit odd to me.  So those vehicles have more than a 3-way speaker system on one channel?  I suppose I could see it if you wanted to stick with the 7 channel audio system, but with aftermarket amps and speakers.  But what's the point of having that many speakers in a car?
