With everyone's professional knowledge, what capacitor would you all recommend for me to use?

Current equipment:
Valor ITS-702W Multimedia Unit
Two sets of component speakers - Alpine Type R SPR-17LS
Two 12" subs - Alpine Type R 1000 watt total
Alpine MRP-F450 Amp (speakers)
Alpine MRD-M1005 Amp (subs)

Future equipment:
Two or more additional monitors
I suppose a video amp would be needed with that
Playstation 2/Xbox 360
And whatever other creative things I can add to my sound/video

None. A cap won't make any power at all... If adding more accessories, the ONLY thing you can do is upgrade your alternator.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

It's a pretty, shiny red can, and you can then say "Well, I have one, do you?"

Pretty much, that's about all!

Add a battery or two first, then an alternator. Caps are junk.

NO!   there is only one thing that makes power in your car.   It is not batteries, it is not caps, it is the alternator alone!

If you want to recieve more power from your electrical charging system, you need to start at the begining and upgrade the alternator

Don't waste your money on a C(r)ap. No matter who makes it, what color it is or how many flashing lights it has on it.

Sure is.  If your system requires 200 amps, a 250 amp alt offers good reserve capacity.

Why, I wonder, did the alternator whine in the F-360? I'm having issues with alternator whine (haven't completely gone over all ground resistances yet...) and wonder if a little .5farad will help me. I know it'll only strain my alt more, making a replacement sooner to come, but will it actually rid me of this whine -whenever I narrow it down to that?

This was a Hamfist idea as a last resort. We think the alternator had a bad diode. I used a 10 farad and it worked. Can't guarantee it will always work but it can't hurt to give it a try.

What kind of alternator do i want?
I had an alternator problem so I replaced by alternator, but Im not sure what I'm looking for when I shop for a new one.

Also, when i upgrade the alternator, will that make that high pitched sound be louder in my car?

No. Not in and of itself. If it's properly built, you should have no more noise than you presently do.

I'd seriously consider fixing your install, and upgrading the big three, THEN do the alternator.
