Hello -

I have read the forums over and over and that has helped alittle, but I need some further clarification, please....

I have an Avic-D3 installed with a Sony Amp and my car seems to die every 2 days if I dont start my car (as I have seen with others on the forum).   I hooked up my meter and set it for 10A and when I first do this I get a .44 reading then a few seconds later I get a .24 (The change, I would assume, is normal since I bascially disconnect the battery and reconnect through the meter - so the system resets???)   No matter what I pull in fuses it stays at .24 - I have dicsconnected the amp, pulles all three fuses that would deal with Radio and Ignition and that value doesnt change.

Any ideas what I am missing?    I go on vacation next week so I debating pulling the three fuses and seeing what happens over that week - but I would like to fix this before I leave so I know if I should be ordering a new radio or not.  By the way, the car is only 5 months old - It never sat more than two days before I put my new radio in, so my larger concern is it has other issues....

Thanks
Scott

You have your meter hooked up in series with your battery, right?
Are you pulling the fuses from the fuse box? from the amps?

Are all of your doors closed? let your car sit like that for 20 mins, then come back and check it. Everything should have gone dormant by then.

If you are only pulling a quarter of an amp, and your battery is dying in only two days, then *I* suspect the battery being bad... Take it to your local AutoZone, they'll load test it for free.

Just because the car is only 5 months old, that means nothing... I have pulled "brand-new" batteries off the shelf, and load tested it, to find it was already bad.

Have it load tested.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

The meter was connected in series on the + side (as per other docs on the forum) - I  was pulling from the fuse block.

I was wondering about the battery - I can get to an autozone to check that - Thanks!    I know Saturn Vues have a "safety", but that may have failed and killed the battery.
