What kind of db do you think a JL Audio 13W7 in a ported box built to JL Audio specs with a JL Audio 1000/1 amp in a 2002 Escalade will do? Just curious what I might expect from this combo.  Thanks

      >100db, <150db.  It's impossible to say with any sort of accuracy. ------------- Support the12volt.com

I just want it to be louder than my previous vehicle, I had a Precision Power PCX2200 on 2 12 inch Kicker L7's in a sealed box in the back of a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

While the JL setup will definately sound good, I'm not sure if it will be louder than the 2 L7's. The JL setup may be "louder" on a meter, but the Kickers are moving more air, which enhances the experience and makes it "feel" loud. It just depends on your definition of "louder".

Loud equals dbs on a microphone. It doesn't matter how it "feels".

I do like it when the hair on the back of my neck moves LOL I'm hoping being that this box is ported and I know the W7's have some pretty sick Excursion that it will make up the difference in air movement.

I have a Jl W7 12 built to exact ported specs ands its loud. Usually the 12 w7s can do about 140's in a hatchback or suv. The 13 might be 150 if your lucky, but I doubt it.

Wow, 140's with the 12W7. I'm assuming thats also on a 1000/1, it would have to be much less on a 500/1. I was going to go with the 12W7 myself but they are only rated 750watts RMS, I know people use the 1000/1 on them a lot but I'd rather match the system a little better, the 13W7 is 1000watts RMS so matches the amp perfectly.
