I have an ipod integration system (Harman Kardon DP1US) that I'm wanting to wire directly to the power of the car, so that I don't have to use the cigarette lighter. The wiring diagram can be found here: https://www.harmankardon.com/drive-1/diagram.aspx but I have no idea where to connect the +12vdc, ACC, & GND wires. In my previous head-unit installations, I've always bought a wiring harness adapter......and my amp installations have always been wired straight to the battery. This 12-volt power harness has 3 wires that are only about 18 inches in length. Can anyone please tell me how to do a proper install? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sorry - I forgot to include that this will be in a 2001 Toyota Avalon. Can someone help me?

Get some T-Taps, and use Blue / YELLOW as 12+ constant, Brown as your ground and Grey is ignition. Meter these leads first just to be sure. These are the colors behind the radio. -------------

Thanks a lot for your help - but what size gauge wire will the t-taps need to fit? What kind of meter do you use to ensure these are the correct leads?

Red colored T-Taps, not the scotch lock ones though. Looks like this. And the wire colors are for sure, Toyota's haven't changed in years -------------

I prefer the ones that use a spade connector on the other wire, less likely to pull apart. -------------

Dan I think that year Avalon has the amp behind the glovebox and the radio lead colors are differant.

This may be the case, so get the good old test light and the proper leads behind the radio, or go to the amp, which is usually below the radio and the colors I listed will be at the amp. -------------

Yeah, guys - this is the one with the JBL factory stereo with the sub in the back (factory). Is this going to be a problem?
