here's the situation. i have 2 mtx amps (the classic 302 and the 4244), a 0.5 farad capacitor (for the 302), 4ga. wire running to a distributor that divides into 2 8ga. wires, sheilded rca cables, 8 ga ground, and a jvc kd-sh707 radio. i'm getting radio noise through both amplifiers. not motor noise, just radio noise. i annoys me bad because every time i turn on the radio or change tracks i get a "thoomp" or some other odd cd player noise even when the volume is on zero. does anyone have suggestions on what could stop this?

The signal is coming from your headunit. I am not very familiar with KD-SH707, but on your EQ try lower the gain signal on the tuner. It would be like your sub gain, but in your case look for tuner. I worked on a headunit one time, which had the same problem like you where the radio signal was leaking in, but once the gain was lower the radio signal when away. You may still hear the radio signal when turn to full volume, so you might have to adjust your amps to have the same volume as you have before. I hope that help.

First try to fiddle with the gains, then if that doesn't work you might need to double check that all your grounding points (including the one to the radio) are good and clean.  As a last resort, one of these filters might possibly fix it.
