What are you using the 5th ch. for? The center channel?

Yea, its used for the center channel. Its a tru 5 channel unlike most 5 channels where the 5th channel is for a sub, this one it is actually for a center speaker due to the amp having dolby dig 5.1 surround sound with built in 30band processor.

Here are the pictures of the system complete. I dont have the ring on around the headunit and the capacitor is not installed due to it getting replaced under warranty

slick looks very well put together. Just a friendly tip take the cap back and buy a yellow top to throw back there. You will be way happier than with the cap. Just advice get on the car audio forum and ask some of the guys about caps and get there opinion too. But  nice looking system welcome to the 12 volt

That's a nice setup! One question, do the amps get hot being covered around the sides like that? Or do you have a fan setup under there?

I also forgot to mention for those interested..When i went to pick it up i wanted to see how loud my setup was, so they (soundcrafters/iasca) put me on the meter and i hit a 137.4 listening to flo rida - elevator. Im sure now that everything is broken in and with something better i could def be a lot louder.

hey, i was jus wondering what do u have this running off of. how many farads is the cap u have, and is it jus 1? did you upgrade ur alt, if so, to wut amperage. or did u take the recommendation sum1 made and got a 2nd batt?

All i have done so far is a 20farad cap. When i get home i plan on adding a bigger alt. I dont really notice to big of a dim on lights considering i run my interior lights very dim anyways. Headlights only dim if its constant bass where im hittin over 135db.

Looks well thought out - I like that.  From the pictures it looks like the spare tire is still accessible?  I'm assuming that is why the enclosure raises up over the panel in the floor.

Thats correct. When i went to the shop with my design, they came up with that idea and asked me if i liked it and i said to go with it. I have not had a flat since *knock on wood*

Looks awesome! Makes me wish I had kept my last car, a Ford Taurus Station Wagon.  I had it when I started buying my current car audio stuff, and planned on having tons of room in the back.  But I then made the mistake of buying a Dodge Stratus, and the trunk is super small so I'm very limited to what I can do or how much I can cram back there.

I also wanted to keep my spare tire and jack.  So my plan was to mount the amp rack on hinges bolted to the trunck floor so I could lift it up to get to my spare tire. I bought little 1x1 pieces of wood to go under it so it won't just be laying on cables.

Love your install and your system.  Now I wanna rush out and sell my car so I can have as much room in the back as you have!

fmsvandal, I have a question for you.  How do you like the type X 12s?  I currently have two type R 12s and I'm thinking about upgrading at some point to either type X or JL W6v2's.  Do you think they are worth the extra $ over the type R?

i like it. Simple, and clean. Not too extravagant, but very nice. I am a big fan of how you did the center channel.

Thanks For The Compliments. I posted my new setup on the forum as well. I got rid of the grand cherokee and got a 09 Double Cab Tacoma. Kinda sucks none of this stuff would fit so it's all sitting here boxed up in my room waiting for my next vehicle.
