Hello everyone, I'm new to the site. I drive a 1988 Chevy 1500 regular cab short bed that I'm building into a mild custom 454SS clone. I am currently a student at WyoTech in Laramie and I'm enrolled in Street rod. I joined to learn more about power components in general, not just audio equipment. Some current electrical mods I'm planning for my truck are: power window conversion, power door lock conversion, component speakers (tweeters and kick panel mount 6.5's), shaved door handles, remote start/alarm system, fog lights, double din head unit conversion, digital instrument cluster, LED parklamp/marker light conversion, LED taillights, auto darkening mirror with digital compass/thermometer/map lights, and LED mood lighting in the interior. I'm also installing an overhead console from a Suburban and I'm going to mount either a radar detector or an XM head unit in the A/C control section in the front. One project I want to do is get a one-piece rear window and have a power roll down/up system similar to in the older K5 Blazers, but that's a maybe. I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of use out of the information on this site. It's really rough right now, multicolored interior and exterior but it's a WIP and I'm working on coloring the interior red right now. I'll attach a pic before I replaced the bed. Let me know what you think!
