ok, so i have been playing around with all types of 12volt stuff for over 10 years, but just got into the remote start/alarm field under a year ago. and my truck is fairly well done up (i like it). so i thought i would move on to do some mods to the ingersoll rand p90 trailer compressor i own. doesn't hurt to look good at work, too. actually, the feedback i get from my customers when i take my truck to a job has been huge. they seem to have more confidence in someone who is doing well for themselves. i just finished installing a crimestopper cs 2014 dp2 2-way paging remote start/alarm combo on it. it was probably one of the toughest ones i have ever done. the wiring diagrams from the owners manual were useless to me, so i had to find and test each wire individually. it took me two attempts to finish, had to stop and get parts- for a total of almost 8-9 hours to finish install completely. i used three diodes, a pulse timer, and six relays to make the remote start work correctly without risking damage to the unit. and an additional 3 relays for the auxiliary outputs. in the next month or so, i will upgrade the unit to the cs2900 infinity fm model (they are plug-n-play harnesses with the 2014; i did the same swap on my truck). right now, i just have strobes hooked up the one of the aux outputs, but two more are already wired with relays ready to go for whatever i decide to do?
here are some pics of the r.s install:

the wire mess (i should have took a pic of the inside- what a mess!)

i did about the best i could on the install, it is hopefully a lifer. everything is wire loomed, and mounted well with accessibility for repair (except the siren is missing a screw i dropped-hence the e-tape)
so, i think i might have some more pics, i will put up soon- antenna mounted on top of frame, and of it behind my truck. matching rims similar to the ones on the truck are on order (16's replacing 13's-lol), and next month my buddy is going to paint the top half red to match, and he is going to weld me a bunch of stainless steel racks to hold the (4) 50 foot-3/4inch hoses; as well as a spare tire rack for a 3rd matching wheel; and two bins for chemicals and plugs.

Interesting alarm install I might say. Are you going to hide the wiring and critical parts of the alarm system? I'm thinking metal tubing for the wiring and a metal lockable box for the brain and siren (hole for sound of course).

i dunno- i thought about it, but the entire top body locks,so it really doesn't matter that much. plus, i don't really need the alarm, it was just a couple bucks more than the remote start so i went that route. but it IS there for the 'scare factor' of any potential thieves. the brain is mounted inside with all of the factory relays, which is a solid steel box with 8 10mm bolts holding it together.
