I have a 2001 gsx-r1000. I got it crashed. But, the only thing that was broken was the stator cover. So i got a new one. Does not start for some reasone. When i turn the key, the headlight goes on and so does the gauge cluster. But, no characters show up on the cluster, The green "N" (nuetral) light wont turn on, and the bike wont start. I can beep the horn and turn my high beams on..Thats about it. I thing the person that had this before must of messed with the wiring because there was a bunch of little neon lights everywere. But, i took all that out. If anyone knows were i should start or let me know how to solve this problem it would be really great. I can also take a picture or the wireharness for you, becasue to me it looks a little shady. Also it looks like i'm missing something, like something is unplugged. Thankyou.

It seems to me that you are missing True Ignition. The following diagram is for a 600, but they should be very similar. https://smokeriders.com/diagrams/Suzuki/Four-Strokes/GSX-R600/GSX-R600_W_and_%20X_.jpg

Yea, honestly i dont know how to read this diagram. is true ignition a part? or a wireing harness? I think i need a new headlamp wiring harness. Because i looked at one online and compared it to the one that is on my bike, and it looks like im missing a plug. I also have another question about my blinkers. I baught a tail light that has the blinkers aready in it. I plugged the tail light in, but there are two extra wires (blue, yellow), im assuming there the blinkers. the light didnt come with instructions so i have no ideah how they go. from the bike i have 4 wires for the blinkers; two for each side. One set is black with a white stripe and just black. The second set is black with a white stripe and green. If you know how to hook this up let me know. Thanks.

True ignition is not a part. It is simply a wire that goes hot when the key is turned on, and remains hot while the starter is turning over. There are wires that go hot when the key is turned on, but lose power when attempting to start. According to the diagram I posted the BLACK/ White wire is the ground for the blinkers and the Black and Green wires are the positive blinker wires.

ok i will give it a shot. Today me and my buddy are gonna try to mess with it. were gonna take all the tape apart and see what is going on. I might even take the tank off. I just wanna see what goes were. My buddy is better at this then i am, so i will prin this diagram and see if he can read it and we will go from there. As far as the blinkers go, ill put those wires together in the order you said. Do you think i should run a wire from the negative to the two grounds that i will be putting together?

I am sure your aftermarket light assy. has a ground wire on it that grounds all 3 bulbs. Just ground the ground wire of the assembly to the chassis of the bike.

yea. Well as far as the starting problem goes, it looks like there is a plug that i am missing. If you are familiar with the piece of harness that mounts onto the right air duct; well next to the "fuse" it looks like there is supposed to be something there and i dont have it.

Ok so i got the bike to turn over and run. wierd. I found out the there was a bunch of fuses missing not a plug. So what i did is i took short pieces of wire and jump the terminals out (since i didnt have those tiny fuses). When i did that i heard the fuel injector wine up, and started right up. But i still have a problme with the gauge cluster. Is it possible that just the whole thing is shot? And also cant get the blinkers to work (front or back), i tried with a test light but nothing.
