Has anybody done an alarm on this (or any other suzuki) bike before? Should I be looking for the starter wire in the loom from the starter button or do I have to go to the starter itself? The starter button loom is much simpler to locate and access, and since it is hot out simpler is better. I have everything else located and sorted out, but the starter is killing me. I am hooking up the remote start part simply for bling factor. Yes I am aware that I need to hook up the neutral light...the alarm manufature made it really conveniant and even gave me a wire to use. I have already hooked up my garage door opener to the bright flash, and I will be hooking up some small strobe lights to the horn button to alert the cell phone holding latte drinking h2 driving (insert your favorite explitive here) that is about to cut me off to my presence. any help would be awesome. thanks.

Max

My info says YELLOW /GREEN wire at the starter button itself... is that the one you've found already?

I swear that I tested every wire... but you are right. yellow and green it is. Thank you very much for that info.  here is the odd thing. that wire shows 10 volts with the ignition on and then 12v if you hit the starter button. once the clutch is depressed then the voltage drops to zero with ignition on and then shows 12v once the starter is hit. I knew that I would have to bypass the clutch lever because the bike does not start unless you have it depressed, but since it is directly effecting the starter wire is it going to be a simple as I had hoped? can I use a trigger off of the alarm to cue a relay into bypassing the clutch, or is there a resistor involved. I read a post about and older gsxr having to have a couple wires joined together with a 1000 ohm resistor or something like that.

Is there any way that you can post the info that you have, and or tell me where you got it from?

thanks again,

max

https://www.repairmanualclub.com/

Register as a new user, then download (as I easily did -- and it's free) the 2003 SV650 service manual --> this is a pretty sweet download to have even after you figure out this r/s install.

All your wiring is in this manual.
