I had trouble with the PKFM a while ago and and thought other people would like to know the solution for the fix.

First off if everything is wired right doesn't matter the firmware the led should blink with the security light on the dash. When key is turned on it should light up for 2-3 seconds and go out with the security light too.

if you are having trouble programing make sure that the orange wire of the 10 pin harness is connected to an ignition wire (not the on at the pats, one at he ignition harness)

i have never had a problem with the PKFORD firmware once it was programed try this first.

The PKF3 on the other hand. This firmware is sometimes required when you can not get PKFORD to work on 2006-newer vehicles.

The problem seems like you loss programing after a while and the Remote starters will not work. if you put the key in the cylinder it will work that way.

The module is not actually losing program it need to be powered down and plugged back in.

if you unplug the power source from the module and plug it back in and the remote starter works again, there is an easy fix

this does not matter if you wired it d2d or wire to wire. You must take the black wire from the 10 pin harness and attach it to the brake wire( i usually just go to the brake input of the R/S). I now this sounds stupid.

this is what Directed Technician told me to do and it works.

When the brake is applied it sends 12 volts down the ground wire simulating that the connection was unplugged and then when the 12 volts stops it see ground again.

Hope this helps some one out.
