Hi Guys,
I am looking to hook my ipod to my Kenwood deck (KTS-300MR) in a boat. Basically, hiding the Kenwood in a storage compartment and then using the IPOD to select songs & control volume. I would like for the Kenwood to power the ipod as well. I know Kenwood makes the KCA-IP500 IPOD Control Interface, however it says in the description that , "you use your radio's controls to select songs from the ipod's playlists, and the information that usually comes up on the ipod screen shows up on your radios display." In my application, I want to use the IPOD for song selection and volume. Do you think I will still be able to do this with this product or is the another way to hook it up?
The reason I am hiding the stereo is to make better use of the limited space I have available in my Center console fishing boat.
I appreciate your help.
any of the direct connect modules for aftermarket radios require to use head unit for selection. if you are wanting to use the ipod i would just suggest using the ux input on the front of th radio, or rear pending the model. just using the headphone jack(aux input) will give you good sound quality and make it so you can control from ipod itself.

you can do it....
advanced MECP, lol does it really matter....
patience is a virtue
Hi,
Thanks so much. Unfortunately, I don't have an aux port on the deck. Could i use the FM/AM Antenna input?
Thanks,
Ted
